WoWhead reports that Clay Stone told Destin there are no current plans for a WoW Token or paid level boosts. This is Blizzard’s stated direction, not a permanent guarantee.
WoWhead’s interview coverage reports a level-20 opening cap, increasing to 30 for the rest of beta. Everyone starts at level 1 at launch; no date is given for the cap increase.
New places to level and ongoing progression at level 60.
Travel, dangerous places, and cooperation remain part of the leveling journey. Forever keeps flying mounts and level scaling out, with preparation, communication, and distinct class strengths central to its Classic approach.
Mount Hyjal, Shen’dralas, Riverglades, and Zephras Isle expand the world with new stories and contribute to more than 1,000 new quests.
Beyond Darkwhisper Gorge, the forest is recovering from Archimonde’s defeat while corruption spreads. This late-level questing region adds solo and group adventures, reputations, and rewards. It also contains Hyjal Summit and one of three entrances to Barrow Deeps; an exact zone level bracket has not been announced.
Between Mulgore and Desolace, ancient ruins expand the story of the Shen’dralar and Eldre’Thalas. Gelkis and Magram centaur stories continue here, with new reasons to revisit Maraudon and Razorfen Downs.
A new Eastern Kingdoms coastal region offers questing from the mid-30s to mid-40s, new reputations, a neutral goblin port, and the outdoor ogre dungeon Krol’dok Stronghold. The panel describes more than 150 quests; Blizzard’s later Found Photos recap puts the zone at nearly 200.
The level 1–12 starting story follows Highborne exiles whose wind-spirit patrons have vanished, leaving their island’s magical supports failing. Elemental traditions connect Horde Skyborne with the Earthen Ring, while Alliance Skyborne look to the Kirin Tor. The race and starting experience require a Heroic-or-higher upgrade.
Forever remains at level 60 as updates expand the world. Gear will still grow in power, with smaller increases and situational rewards intended to keep older content useful.
Forever is a permanent game with ongoing development. The panel sets out plans to deepen Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, adding stories and activities throughout levels 1–60 as well as endgame content. The team aims to serve solo, dungeon, raid, and PvP players with future updates; it has not promised a fixed patch cadence.
Experience from repeatedly killing dungeon enemies is being reduced, while dungeon-quest experience is being increased to reward the first run and return players to the outdoor world.
New group content and progression tracks across several group sizes.
Nine new dungeons arrive with the game. The first raids are scheduled for 9 December 2026: 10-player Barrow Deeps, 20-player Hyjal Summit, and the returning 40-player Onyxia’s Lair.
The 10-player raid explores connected barrow dens once used as sacred resting places and prisons. Corruption is spreading through the underground complex. The panel hints at a famous former prisoner without announcing a boss roster.
This 20-player raid returns to the snowy heights and ruins left after the Battle of Mount Hyjal. A new threat is drawing power from the surrounding land. Blizzard teased a legendary reward without revealing its identity.
Forever begins early in Azeroth’s original timeline. Blizzard plans to revisit iconic raids in later updates and previewed a revamped familiar raid for summer 2027. This does not establish a complete returning-raid roster or dates for each raid.
Every raid tier is planned to include at least one 10-player and one 20-player option, with some tiers also adding a 40-player raid.
The developers plan rare chase drops on every raid boss to help keep older raids rewarding. Tier-set pieces are distributed across the three opening raids, giving players reasons to visit each.
The new battleground pits the Darkspear trolls against Theramore’s expeditionary force off Kalimdor. Blizzard describes Eye of the Storm’s overall rules with Arathi Basin-style capture points: interact with a flag, then defend the position. The original battlegrounds remain part of the game.
Honor earned from PvP advances a seasonal or patch-cycle track to rank 14 with cosmetic and stat-bearing armor rewards. The interview does not establish an honor or rank reset at the end of each cycle.
A new playable race, broader class choices, and redesigned combat systems.
Skyborne choose their faction at creation. Both factions can play Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, or Druid, with unique Skyborne druid forms; Alliance also offers Mage and Horde offers Shaman. The race and Zephras Isle starting experience require the Heroic pack or a higher upgrade.
Gnome Priests, Human Hunters, Dwarf Shamans, Orc Mages, Troll Warlocks, and Undead Paladins are being added.
Talent trees retain their Classic structure but add a new 16-point milestone, revise or replace existing talents, and move several improved group buffs into baseline class kits. The team aims for all 27 specializations to be viable in dungeons and raids.
Each race has two active and two passive abilities. Dwarven Stoneform reduces physical damage; Undead Cannibalize restores mana as well as health, and Touch of the Grave adds a chance to drain life.
Holy Strike arrives at level 6 and Consecration becomes baseline at level 20. Judgment preserves seals, while Seal of Fury grants absorb shields and makes Judgment taunt. Consecration deals more damage and threat to its first four targets.
Ordinary enemies are being tuned for longer fights, with threat and crowd control restored as meaningful tools. Itemization adds unified hit and critical-strike stats plus more situational effects.
Hundreds of new items and revisions to existing equipment add use and equip effects suited to particular enemies or situations. The panel’s examples emphasize interesting tools alongside stat upgrades; final item values and complete loot tables still need verification.
The HD/SD model setting controls how you see your character, other players, and NPCs that use player-style models. HD characters can retain Classic animations. The model switch does not change world textures or creatures such as dragons and gnolls; Classic and modern presentation presets are also available.
The visual work preserves the original art direction while adding effects such as flowing rivers in Elwynn, low night fog in Duskwood, and moonlight in Ashenvale. These environmental changes are separate from the HD/SD character-model setting.
Progression, social, customization, crafting, and accessibility additions.
Professions receive more than 600 recipes and new dungeon Blueprints, with additional equipment, consumables, food, and profession-specific camp objects.
Updated crafted food can grant a small experience bonus alongside stat buffs, giving cooking more value while leveling.
Stop with other travelers, contribute profession-made objects, and rest briefly to receive camp benefits. Camps provide repairs, workspaces, and hour-long buffs. Each player can add one object; basic fires hold three, upgraded fires five or ten. Camp buffs do not stack with the corresponding class buffs.
Leveling another character and completing challenges can unlock perks shared across your characters, giving each new journey more goals. At launch, earn up to 65 account-wide Legacy points; each character separately spends up to 16 across Adventure, Professions, and Resourcefulness. Further accomplishments unlock cosmetics. Hardcore progression follows separate rules.
The panel teased riding changes; Blizzard’s subsequent Deep Dive explains them: the up-front mount cost moves into riding training, and learning the skill grants a mount. That announcement does not specify final prices or a changed riding level.
Players choose Normal, PvP, or Roleplaying instead of a realm, with Hardcore arriving later. Groups must share a faction and ruleset within a region. Characters use region-unique two-part names.
Opting out shows other players in their equipped gear on your screen, while preserving hidden helm and cloak settings. Appearance collection still works. Transmog must match armor type; eligible looters share uncommon or rare bind-on-pickup dungeon appearances, while raid epics go to the recipient. High-level appearances become usable at level 60, with cosmetic-only exceptions.
Meeting Stones open a Looking for Group feature for listing and discovering groups. They do not summon the party; players travel to the instance or use a Warlock summon.
Josh Greenfield confirms that Forever includes a built-in damage meter. A cooldown manager is also planned, but its beta availability has not been confirmed.
The default bank is being expanded to make room for more situational equipment. Bags begin at their original sizes; the exact bank capacity has not been settled in the published interview.
Greenfield says item stats will be hidden until players discover the drops, and there will be no dungeon journal initially. The aim is to let players discover equipment and encounters through play.
Forever is adopting in-combat restrictions for add-ons that perform calculations to automate player marking or communication.
Blizzard directly announced native controller support in the panel, with an in-development interface playable at BlizzCon. A developer interview adds accessibility-controller and handheld-PC goals. This is optional input support; no console version has been announced.
Announcements and plans for the separately launching Hardcore ruleset.
Hardcore will be added as its own region-wide ruleset after the main Forever launch, giving the team additional time to address bugs that could cause unintended deaths.
Dead Hardcore characters can transfer to another ruleset, including PvP. Hardcore rewards and progression can flow outward, while progress earned in other rulesets cannot flow into Hardcore.
